A necklace that I picked up awhile ago (it wasn’t cheap) in a group of items from a high end collector. I have since sold off most of the pieces from that purchase, somehow this one got misplaced and forgotten about… until this morning.

Necklace dates to 1940’s-1950’s based on markings - this would align with the coveted Alfred Philippe era

The timeless faux Baroque pearls are Trifari perfection, iridescent and huge (12mm). The jade green pieces look to be glass. Tiny faceted spacer beads have some dark patina, but otherwise this necklace is incredibly choice

    adjustable from 16-18”. Quite hefty in weight at 67g B37FD10C-4C55-4496-AF13-4D235262182D.jpeg 25024CAB-73AF-4CE7-AE67-9AF890841CF7.jpeg E26C3C1D-9097-42D7-A3DD-ABB10E2DBF64.jpeg BF546797-6747-480B-A7BD-E51568F7F586.jpeg BE5F9E39-886F-49B9-9FC6-D700109E3FAC.jpeg F4B7C038-AB1A-4023-9155-18981000011B.jpeg 33E8AF04-17D0-42AA-80D1-24CAC10AFDA9.jpeg CC5CC886-F858-4484-A3D3-505C27C22114.jpeg

I have been really searching the interwebs and have not found another single example of this piece.

does anyone have any deep knowledge of 1940’s thru 1955 Trifari?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Lovely necklace -- I know nothing about Trifari, though.

There’s a Facebook group for Trifari. Might be worth a pop.

Just an observation as I don't know much about Trifari - would that time period actually be Crown Trifari in which there should be a little crown on top of the "T"?

There's an identical necklace, but with coral-color beads, on eBay with an asking price of $155.03. The title of the listing is, "Vintage 1950's Crown Trifari Coral reef style glass beads Pearl Beaded Necklace." The description mentions that it has the Trifari charm tag. The seller is located in the UK. There are no photos of the signature on the clasp, but on your photo it appears there isn't room for the crown above the "T" so maybe that's why the "T" charm with a crown was included. Since is doesn't include a copyright symbol, it most likely dates to no later than 1955.

yes, the date range for my necklace is 1940-1955 based on a combination of changes in the Trifari marks. The actual date for the little crown above the T in the stamped signature is not known other than “sometime in the 40’s”

    specifics noted in my listing:

Closure hook is signed “TRIFARI” in all caps with larger T. The signature is not followed by ©️ which was added in 1955. Pre 1940 pieces were stamped “Trifari Pat pend”. Sometime in the 1940’s the crown was added above the “T” in the stamped signature. If there was not enough room on the findings to use the T-Crown, they added a T-Crown dangle tag to the piece.

They added the little crown above the T in the 40’s, but if there wasn’t room to fit that stamp, they added the little dangle tag

Those look 1950s/1960s to my eye. According to this, the hang tag was first used in 1954. Lots of misinformation floating around the internet. Anyone know if that's true/not?
