Not sure if this is the right place for this, but what am I looking at? Any information would be great! Pardon the dinner setting!

A portable field phone. Perhaps adapted from an old military surplus one.

Any idea of where I could find info on what it may be worth?

I don't see phone collectors for this sort. The military guys are probably out on this one too. I don't know if train junkies like this sort of thing.

The most similar ones on ebay are asking $200 and they're not selling.

    EDIT

    Welcome John!

There was a young woman who was a rail fan but don't think she's been back.
With some supposed 2,000 members I'd think there would be one.
I am but not at this level.
I did just buy two of those double playing card decks in the drawer dispensers.
    SOO LINE
    &
    FRISCO.

I was raised by a rail nut. I'm none too sure of the market for these phones, but electronics junkies are a market too. A rail fan who has to have one of everything would like it too.

If this is military surplus, what era is it from? WWII? Korea? Vietnam?
