Unidentified glass jars/bottles

I recently found a small bottle dump on the property I live on, and found a lot of jars. Nothing I thought was interesting, except for these two items.

The company is the Owen-Illinois bottle company. The number to the right of the logo is a 3, and the number to the left is a seven. One other jar I found at the small dump was a 1963 jar, so I'm guessing that means this bottle is from 1963? I'm definitely not an expert on this subject. I just want to know what the bottle was for, because it seems to have an awkward shape. I'm guessing milk? I really don't know. Any info would help.

 

Back in the 60's the milk came with waxed cardboard/paper lids not screw on lids. . I'm guessing juice of some sort.

Could be syrup

 

I think they are Tropicana orange juice.

Would've been a huge and cumbersome bottle for syrup too.

 

at least in the bygone days...it had some maple in it !!!!

 

It's made from compressed log cabins.

 

now i know why the house is so small...

 

I didn't explain which kind of syrup I meant. I was thinking of Karo syrup. Here is a picture of a bottle very much like the OP's with label. Karo light came in the same kind of bottle.

IMHO, packer goods like this aren't worth that much. There isn't anything all the decorative about it. Most packer goods that have a following on the secondary market are those that are made of desired materials (jadeite) or have decor pressed into the glass such as the pepper shakers Hocking made, or even fired on paint decor like the original swanky swigs

I also found this. It has a rubber cap of some sort? Can this be put back on if removed. It looks like its stuck to the top of the bottle with glue. I want to drain the water that's in it, because it leaks if turned sideways.
