Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble identifying this brooch.
It has a C clasp and has a decent weight to it with, no identifiable markings.

It looks somewhat handmade but I am unsure as to what it is and am extremely curious to find out. I found it years ago and never found out what it was supposed to be.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Welcome to the forum, Selkie.
A beautiful brooch. Could you please show us the back as well, preferably on a plain background, and click on 'full image' when you post the photo?

It reminds me of 'Flemish Heart' jewellery, which is always a heart suspended from some other decoration of roughly similar width to the heart. Maybe a take on the originals, like this one:

    Sorry about that!
And you're right it does look very similar.
As you can see it has a very plain backing and slightly wonky craftmanship haha.
    It's a very odd brooch.

Thank you for your help :)

Pleasure. I think it is 20th century costume inspired by 19th century heart brooches, possibly the Flemish Heart style. It is a pretty brooch.
