UFO item :-) please help identify , Mark a man with a flag and a shield

Hello again,

I have been dormant for a while ( there is a reason for it)...appologises for asking so many questions.
I have a friend, he bought the attached items, and he would like to know what they are.
I have no idea, what do you think?
I have seen some comments by @komokwa And @Fid about the markings on some salt and pepper items.
It said that most likely are Italian, maybe Rome, sterling silver. They are all silver, the reflection makes them look gold in colour, but they are not gold.
How old they are? Could anyone pin them down to a year?
Also, what does the man with the flag and a shield means?

i can't even guess what they are...but I'd use em as chopstick rests...

 

Ditto. These are too modern for the Papal States period.

I use a similar thing to cool a swollen eyelid. Employees of the Vatican could use these to soothe their eyelids after a long day of going through documents.

 

Could be a spoon rest. If the Vatican mark gives it a religious connotation, maybe a baptism spoon rest?

I remember when I visited the Vatican, there were some guards holding something like a spear or a flag and a shield.
Can this have something to do with the guards?

That's what I thought at first, but then decided they were too shallow. But maybe they are, for very careful use.

 

For an interesting internet side excursion, google "Swiss Guard Vatican". I visited the Vatican over 60 years ago and the guards still stand out in my memory.
