Hello, my father inherited these two wooden statues. They are approximately 93 centimetres tall. My father told me, they were inherited in our family for very long time, approximately 120 years. We are from Czech Republic, but our ancestors were traveling around the world with carousels. There are no labels or marks. Also very important information is, these two statues were glues to some kind of pedestal, my father told me that. Unfortunately the pedestals ale lost forever. What are they? upload_2022-6-20_17-14-43.png upload_2022-6-20_17-15-12.png upload_2022-6-20_17-15-23.png

@Gate, WELCOME to ANTIQUERS!!!:happy: While you're searching for blackamoor information, you should come across some pricing information....we don't generally do pricing per se.....waay too many variables!! Good luck in your searching!!

They are likely Venetian. They do seem to be missing bits. Something held in hand, perhaps an oar?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Yes, you should be able to find some similar. Use the words "wooden" and "pedestal" along with "blackamoor" to see what that type of figure looks like. Since yours are a few feet tall as they are, they must have been quite impressive before the pedestals were lost.

They were probably holding torches. Could be the flames were of a different material, glass perhaps, that has not survived.

For candles? Bases look too tilted for that, but...
