Two More Pieces of Eight (I know, I know...1779, 1790).

1779 weighs 26g exactly (or a fraction higher). The 1790 one is 26.52/3 grams. Given that the '79 one is pretty freakin' worn out, I'm not that surprised by the lower weight.

The '79 one also has two marks or something, next to the 'S' and below the 'III' in 'CARLOUS III'. Are these chop-marks or just imperfections? I can't decide.

Very nice, Shangas. You still have time to change Carlous to Carolus.:)

LOL!! Oh woopz... :p Never mind!!

Anyway like I said, I've weighed the coins and examined them minutely. I believe them to all be 100% authentic. This is pretty exciting! I've never owned 18th century coins before.

Well, I did once, but I sold it, and regretted it ever since.
