    Hello,
    Everyone

I recently purchased two books of stamps.
They is 1,160 & 1,157 in each book

The globe master an illustrated album for stamps of the world.
    Stamps total - 1,160
Stanley Gibbons - Gay Venture Stamp album
    Stamps total - 1,157

I am wondering due to them been stamps on every page and from around 85 countries is they any point me photographing every page in an eBay auction?

what's your advice for selling these?

I see yellow where a stamp used to be does this mean someone has taken out some of the stamps?

thanks for all your help and advice, if someone wants to see a specific page and know that, that page could increase the sale value then please do let me know.

Looks like a hobbyist collection. Obviously took a lot of time to collect them and adhere them to the pages, but the odds of having any valuable stamps hinged in an album are pretty slim.

The stamps are notorious for coming off of the yellow hinges you see. More than likely just fell off as opposed to someone taking them off.

    Hi,
I suggest you cut out the pages and just sell the different countries. You will have a much better chance to move them that way. You never know what might be in there. I bought one country page for 2 bucks and found a 75 dollar stamp. I did not even see it when I bought it. A big surprise and a nice one.

    Hello,

Thanks all they is literally so many pages I mean easily 170+ pages of stamps from 40-70 different countries some from 1950s

Do you think I should keep uploading pages eveyday here and poeple can spot and guess stamps.

Depends on how much time you want to put into the endeavor. I don't know how many stamp 'experts' peruse the forum, though. @daveydempsey may be able to help out here.

It looks like what I would call a schoolboy collection
Quantity over quality and it is unlikely that any stamps were bought individually for any noticeable amount of money.

The chances of any individual item being desirable are very slim, and the 'schoolboy' market is pretty dead. Round here the albums might fetch £10 each at a bricks and mortar saleroom where people can look through them, I'd say they'd do less well online as all buyers would assume the worst.

I have aquired large stamp collections from two different sources over the years, neither of which I purchased. After spending hours upon hour upon hours searching out different stamps online, I quit. Very tedious work if you do not know what you are looking at. It will be the work for a later generation at best.

    Counting perforations isnt fun.....

    Hi Marco,
I have a plastic ruler that measures the perforations. The difference between a 12 perforation and a 13 perforation can mean 100s of dollars to "IDENTICAL" stamps.

The reason I started counting in the first place ;)

Never knew(but should have) there was an easier way. Thanks

Then there is the watermarks and the shades etc etc etc.
Collecting coins and banknotes is far better than stamps.

eBay shoppers won’t pay much at all. It looks like most of what you have are postmarked and that cuts the value a lot. Also “mint” stamps that have been attached to the page are worth less than those that have never been disturbed. Stamps are subject to condition grading just like anything else. I have a collection of USA stamps that was evaluated at $10,000 about 20 years ago. Now I would be happy with $3,000.
