Two BIG pieces of silver. Together they're very-very-nearly a whole kilogram of silver (about 490 and 502g each).

Don't know anything about how old or where they were made. Hopefully you smart cookies can help me! :p

The bowl is 10 inches across, and the big pedestal thing is about 9 inches across and probably the better part of six inches tall.

Something tells me they aren't particularly old, but I'd still like to know more about them. One of them (flat, wide one with the ropey sides) is Italian I think, and that's all I know. I don't know anything else. I bought the two bowls from the same dealer.

    Any info is appreciated!! :p

They are both Italian, made in Padua (PD) after 1968.

59 is ALGEMA di DARIO ALFREDO, the mark was entered 13/10/1962 and still used in 1971.
    I can't find 247.

Is the first bowl 80% assuming the 800=80% and the 925 on the 2nd bowl is 92.5%

I’m not quite sure how to use this site, maybe someone (@aaroncab) could figure something out. Might be useful in the future for someone.
    Thanks Aaron :)

From what I've seen, it gives some great information if you are in Italy. Very useful if you want to find a present day goldsmith or jewellery shop. Or if you want to know the day price of gold and silver (troy oz).
For most of us it could come in handy while on holiday in Italy. Although I never had trouble finding a jewellery shop in Italy. Italian bookshops were always much harder to find.:(
