So from what I have gathered online there would have been less than 100 of these made. They would have been given to the 20 regional TV guide offices, the stars, and possibly some execs of the show. Client brought this in today with a ton of other items but I thought it was somewhat unique so I pulled it and did some research. I was always a fan of The Love Boat. LOL! I have also included a picture of the TV guide cover with all the writing.

:hilarious: I have a friend who worked in the costume department crew and occasionally as an extra on Love Boat! Not that she needs a reminder of the show, but that was the first thing I thought of.

The Love Boat soon will be making another run
The Love Boat promises something for everyone
Set a course for adventure, Your mind on a new romance.

    LOL!
I have really fond memories of this show. I was just a kid but I remember watching it every week and thinking it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I wanted to work on The Love Boat.

We used to go on cruises a couple times a year with family and friends. I have probably been on most of the major lines at some point. I haven't been in the last several years and I really miss it.

I hate flying Really really hate it. I wasn't meant to fly at all and I have had to do it too many times in my life already! I will gladly take a 7 or 8 day transatlantic cruise over an 11.5 hour flight to get to Europe any day. The last time I flew to Europe I swore it was the LAST time I would fly to Europe. I just can't do it. I am terrified the whole time and I get all dried out breathing that airplane air. No thank you. I can swim and I am really good at floating. I can't fly. This is my rationale behind this. Sharks don't bother me. We kill more of them than they do us. Cold waters could be a problem, but I'll take my chances.

I have been on some pretty rough water in some pretty small ships and some even smaller fishing vessels. Nothing like falling asleep with the waves of the ocean. The worst part of being on the water for a long time for me is not sea sickness but the land sickness I get when I get back on shore with my sea legs.

I have this dream of buying a big sailing yacht one day and just taking off. Never settling and living from port to port being at sea for weeks at a time. Heck yeah bring it on. I even went to sailing school to learn how to sail. It was my Mother's Day gift a couple of years ago and it was the best gift ever.

My husband is a bit afraid of the sea. He doesn't so much like my idea for retirement but he would follow me anywhere.

Now if I didn't have a husband and a small child that I couldn't stand to be away from I would love to be an auctioneer on a cruise ship, selling art. What a job that would be. I just wouldn't want to be away from my family that long and when you work on those ships you tend to be on a certain route for several months before you get to go home.

The only other problem is my other passion is horses and they don't go too well with sailboats so I am left to choose one or the other I guess. LOL!

My tagline under my profile picture says "200 years too late" I am not sure how many ever caught it but it is because the song below is probably my all time favorite. Every word of it is meaningful to me and it stirs up a lot of emotions for me. I could listen to it over and over and never get tired of it. Just ask my poor husband who now hates this song. LOL! So now you know... The rest of the story.

I think I might just buy this piece for myself to keep. ;-) I know, I know, I am a dork. LOL!

LOL, you remind me of my friend that lives in Italy. She HATES flying but three of her 4 children live here in the US. Her nephew is a surgeon and he gives her tranquilizers for the flights. I have flown with her twice and it was an experience. I had to peel her hands off the arm rest when the turbulence stopped. Now I know what "white knuckles" really means. I can't imagine what she would have done if she wasn't tranquilized.

I saw Jimmy Buffett on his yacht in Nantucket back in the early 90's when we went over to Nantucket for the day on a friends boat from Cape cod. He was very friendly. I would be to if I could live like that.

I was once in a 10 seater prop, flying over the Alps to Switzerland ....
I'm a good flyer....but I think I left my fingernail marks in the armrests !!!!

I flew in a Cessna 172 once. I will leave it at that I flew in a Cessna 172 ONCE! Got sick, cried, prayed, and landed. LOL! Not my idea of fun. I got to ride in the Goodyear blimp when I was around 8 or 9 and I didn't like that either. I pretty much just don't like being high up. I went Parasailing one time and cried the whole time. Heck if I get on a ladder it takes the fire department to get me down. LOL! I don't have too many fears but being up high is definitely my biggest. I don't even like for someone else to be up high.

Funny......I kind of grew up being comfortable in small planes.....I think it was back in the sixties my Mom learned to fly and soloed in a Cessna 172!!! I have the gold earring (hanging, for pierced) my Dad gave her after she did it!!!! She only did it to prove she could.....don't think she flew much after that. However, MY whole point was that I was/still am terrified of the huge airliners......I was ready and able to take the controls with my Dad......you don't have that option in the jumbos.....my biggest fear/hang up. :stop::stop::stop::cold::cold::cold::cold:

    Hi,
I was never afraid of heights HOWEVER once I was in Peru in the 70s and crossing a canyon on a rope suspension bridge. My camera slipped off my shoulder and I grabbed for it thus flipping me off the bridge support. There I was hanging by my arm. It took the guide and two other people almost an hour to untangle me and get me back on my feet. They had to blindfold me in able to drag me off the bridge. To this day I am terrified of heights. Even going up three steps on a ladder causes my legs to become sooooooo heavy I can not move. I can fly in anything but do not ask me to go up more than 3 feet without a plane. I once flew to Europe from NYC sitting next to a woman who was bent in half covered with a blanket. I had wonderful conversation with her and her husband. She was terrified of flying so as long as she was "hidden" under the blanket she could fly.

Back in the mid 60`s we as a family were due to fly on holiday to Italy, the holiday got cancelled due to overbooking at the hotel so we were offered an alternative booking to Spain with the same dates.(My first flight)
When we arrived in Spain we discovered the other flight had crashed and most passengers & crew were killed.

Then in the early 70`s I was on an exersise when I was aboard a helicopter that went down in the North Sea on a freezing January night, we all survived but it was bloody cold.

1988 my plane was struck with lightning at 5000 feet coming into Luton,LOL that certainly made everyone go quiet.

1999 Kuala Lumpur to Sydney 6 of the 8 hours flight time was severe turbulance, no drinks were served, pilot took two attempts at landing in torrential rain.

2002 I was flying back from Gran Canaria with a girlfriend when the arse end of the plane struck the runway on take off.
We circled over the sea dumping fuel and then came back in. We had to wait another day for a replacement flight.

2004 with the same girlfriend flying back from Corfu we hit severe turbulance for about an hour and several passengers
    were injured.
The girlfriend became hysterical and had to be sedated, after landing said she would never fly again.
The next year we drove to Corfu via Holland, Germany, Austria and Italy, using car ferries
Since then I have driven throughout Europe using my car
I`ve travelled the world but there is nowhere I wish to go now which involves flying.

    Come Fly with me :D:D:D:D

    Hi Davey,
Never ever been afraid in a plane, big or small, glider or even a Zeppelin. In the 50s I was in a plane landing at O'Hare in Chicago when the landing gear ripped off the plane just as we were touching down. The plane jack knifed and flipped upside down. There were several broken bones suffered to some passengers and flight attendants. Ever since then I have not been afraid to fly. They say the chances of being in an accident are high, the chances of being in TWO crashes are extremely high, so I do not worry. Once flying to Ireland one of the engines caught fire and burned off. We were less than half way so we returned to NY. Two times the flight I was supposed to take and missed crashed. Once my Grandmother refused to enter the plane so we caught one later. It collided with another plane over the Grand Canyon. My Gram was right on with that call. I would fly anywhere any time. I am more afraid of being in a car accident than a plane accident.

Greg I`m not afraid of flying otherwise I would have given up years ago.
My son uses 4 planes and 2 helicopters every two weeks flying to his rig.
Apart from all the events that happened to me in the past I`m just sick of delays, security scares and cattle class travel in a metal tube.
It is really easy for me to drive 5 miles down the road to the ferry terminal and catch one of the many luxury 12 deck overnight car ferries to either Rotterdam or Zebrugge, from those ports I can drive anywhere in Europe or even into Russia and Asia.
I can relax in a bar or watch live entertainment or just go to bed in my cabin.
