I think the shape is called "barley twist"

 

It's not old just made to look that way. Imported by a company called Privilege International they specialize in high end home decor.

 

Made to look old how? I could be wrong but in my opinion the piece is old. All this is dirt and wax.
Have you seen the same piece by Privilege or that’s just a guess.

 

I just know that finish I have been selling there home decor for years. It was really just made to look that way. The have several different colors with a finish like that anything from birds to candlesticks to pictures frames,
That color was one of there best sellers about 6 years ago.

I know what do you mean, I’ve seen tons of those distressed, antiqued looking pieces. Not the case here. I was about to skip this candlestick just for the same reason till I looked closely and realized this is not artificial wear but dirt. Plus, the base, clay etc are not what you see on those decorative pieces. I’ll clean it and post new pictures.

 

It still need a bit more of cleaning.
