Started this a few months ago and found out I need a lot practice with wire inlay before going any further. Top photo original tsuba used for pattern.
Are you working to scale? You might use something like a Dremel tool to rout the lines and then fill them with a paste of gold-colored dust.
Do you have a picture of the reverse? I'm just wondering if those lines go all the way through... something like filled fret work. It looks good so far. Interested in seeing the end result. How are you holding the brass in place? Force fit?
No photo of the reverse,but the design is the same as the photo.the wire inlay is chased/hammered into small cut channels.The brass in my piece had a "V" groove cut into the thickness and the brass was thicker than the steel.It was then hammered around the edge to force it into the groove.
