Hi there, I have pulled several (and there is MORE) Japanese pieces out of a family friends home. I am not finding many idenitfying marks and have been Google searching all morning. Does anyone have any ideas that might set me on the correct path?
The wooden box is definitely a case for something, and the screen has a sticker that says Japan on the back, the lamp I am only guessing (fromGoogle) is also Japanese. I know the woman traveled alot in the 60s and 70s.

Well, 18 people have seen this but no one has commented, so this total non-expert will jump in with her guess. It would not surprise me at all if all 3 items were brand new when the previous owner acquired them. The graphics on the box plus the hardware, the bright colors and cylindrical shape of the lamp and the simple, floral image on the screen are the things that influenced my humble opinion.

I think others who know more about this stuff might want additional views - a better lit view if the inside of the box, a view of the base of the lamp and a picture of the wiring and plug, and for the screen, a close up of the signature (on the left) - just for instance.

Size of the box might help.
Rather doubt this, but the lamp doesn't fit in it by chance, does it?
The lamp is very pretty, but probably only has decorative value.

I tend to agree with bakers that these items are not terribly old.

The screen it probably from the 1970s. @Any Jewelry

I see nothing to dissuade me from the above opinions.

Agree. Nice souvenirs from a nice trip to Japan.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Welcome, @laticacampbell -- I agree with the others. Wanted to also say that I do like the box!
