Transparent jug for ID

    Looks like what is often called a "claret jug." For the kind of red wine the British call "claret."

    That does not mean it was made in England, though.

    The metal fittings are often the only place where you find marks on these and those would be for the maker of the fittings and not necessarily the maker of the glass.

    One odd thing (to me anyway) is that the lower end of the handle isn't attached in any way to the body. Maybe that's intended, but the metal of the handle would have to be very strong to hold the weight.

    I think the claret jug and bowl are newer as in 1970s-80s. Looks like the things that were given as wedding presents. Silver plate most likely. Probably not marked, as it probably had a paper label.
