    Hi,
I'm trying to find out who the artist is for this watercolour - initials look like h f w or maybe m w. I didn't take this out of the frame as I didn't want to tear off the paper on the back so the photos have reflections in them - lots of little dots that are the reflections of the garden lights. This is 10" x 14".
    Any thoughts appreciated!
    thanks for looking.

It may be depicting a raven, as part of a Tlingit totem pole.

Komo, do you think that's right?

Looks more like an eagle beak than raven (to me.) Poor thing has no left wing. :(

    It's a Kwakiutl pole , most likely a Thunderbird

Thanks folks. Yes, sorry, I should have put that in the title that this isn't a First Nations painting. I think this is a real totem pole, it looks very familiar to me - could be I've seen a photo of it before. I'll stop by the I-Hos Gallery (link below) and see if they recognize it. http://ihosgallery.com/pages/about-us
