Featured TOOTH(?) OR CLAW(?) NECKLACE w/NO MARKINGS?

This was in a box of jewelry left to me by my mom. I think it's a claw?
I couldn't find any markings anywhere, and then I saw what looks like a name(?) or something & 14k on the small ring that holds the claw/tooth pendant to a chain - can anyone make it out?
why would they put it these where most people won't see who made it?
What is the claw/tooth?!

It's more claw shaped than tooth shaped but not sure if it's even real??

Doesn't look like any shark tooth I've ever seen.

 

Which is why I asked - after looking at it it looks more like the toenail (clawnail? lol) that would come out of a claw of a tiger or cat family animal, right?

 

Is the pendent holding it gold or is it all costume jewelry?

I agree with Komo; it is a carving in the shape of a tiger claw; likely carved from ivory.

 

The metal would need to be tested,most costume jewelry doesn't have a soldered jump ring.

 

Not shark teeth they hace a saw like edge. and are reasonable flat. Claw...possibly tiger...resin?

I did look with a loupe but it's not a great one - I'm sure it does say something though.

 

It does seem to be marked, but I can't read it from here. Is there anything on the chain? They didn't start life together so it may not mean much, but it's worth looking. The pendant wants to be gold and ivory.

No marks on chain and too light I think
