Can anyone tell if this is actualy made by Toledo and if it would be described as a letter opener or maybe a dagger.it seems like it has been well used either way.

    It measures 10 inches long.

    Thanks for any info. 20241007_202425_resize_64.jpg 20241007_202434_resize_64.jpg 20241007_202504_resize_8.jpg 20241007_202525_resize_46.jpg 20241007_202537_resize_15.jpg 20241007_202559_resize_54.jpg

I would say decorative and not real Toledo.

I got two swords a few weeks ago from a house clearance, they had the same mark as yours.
I threw them in the back of my van and they fell to bits:D
The handles were brass so they went into the brass bin the rest was mixed metals scrap

A little souvenir letter opener from Toledo, Spain. 1960s maybe. Or 1970s.

I got some Damascene pins and a bracelet when I was in Spain in the 1990s and they are much better quality than this. I don't think it's wear; I think it's as Owned said - faux Toledo

I like this stuff. I once saw a standing ashtray that had one of those Toledo Ware swords as its center support. I didn't buy it because it was a tad too expensive. Even though I have absolutely no need of an ashtray (standing or otherwise) I still sort of regret not buying it. I've never seen another.

They turn up as coctail picks too. I've found more than one set.
