    hi folks

something i won at local auction, stated as a miniature, but didn't realise how miniature :)

    i thought maybe 4 or 5 inches

    https://www.easyliveauction.com/cat...646f/antique-vintage-and-collectables-lot-70/

but its miniscule. i thought maybe for a doll house. was trying to find an old photo to cut down for it, but found some old stamps that seem to fit it perfectly

this might be me being a bit inventive with what ive got;);););););)

    any thoughts appreciated

Interesting little thing. My first thought was a “personalised’ hair clip. I don’t know, but it makes the stamps looks cool.

Photos were often printed very small, locket size. But those small photos would also be put in a miniature frame.
I have a locket size photo of my grandfather as a young man, and his fiancee, my grandmother, put it in a miniature silver frame.

Komo that is hysterical. And totally appropriate for all the idget buyers who never look at the measurements in the listing or notice how small the item is next to a penny. And then say "I thought it was bigger..." Oy vey.

Might, but I'd bet it's a mini photo frame too.

I also think miniature frame. The scale is off for a dollhouse, not that you couldnt work it in some of the larger ones.I work in the 1/12 scale. SOMEWHERE around here Ive got a micomosaic one about that size.Is that remnants of paint i see? Could it be a cold painted bronze ? Looking at it more,I would use it as a fireplace screen in a dollhouse. :)

I got negative feedback once for an item being smaller than it looked. There was a common item (12oz can) for scale in several photos and the dimensions were written in the item description. They also said there was a blood stain on the item when it was clearly a small smudge of the red paint next to it. Lastly they complained about the item being broken when there were also notes of the specific damage to the item and closeups of the damage in the photos. eBay did not grant my request to strike the negative feedback. That was a fun one! New account, didn’t contact me first of course.

Your mini frame reminded me of my mini bird brush. I spied it in a ziplock bag lot of smalls. I was positive it was sterling and bought the bag as fast as I could. Got it home to realize it’s not but still love it. Can’t find one like it. Sure is neat though. D5547D20-B928-47C2-9F5F-F05616D95D36.jpeg

wondering if these tiny things are for a dolls house as well, a bit battered but still quite cute
thought dolls house or maybe travel ink pots ?

    maybe @johnnycb09 might know

taken next to a small star wars figure that i found at a boot sale once, where someone had given him a serial killer/texas chainsaw massacre look :joyful:

Id think maybe to hold little tapers ? Again the scale is a smidge too large ,but then again Ive seen doll furniture that people swear are salesman samples due to the size. Do the insides look like they had ink at one point?
