19mm diameter, Charity shop buy for a whole £5! Chain is 800. Rd number says 1915, I think the maker is William Manton, unfortunately the date letter is not readable.
I can’t find another online so I don’t know if it is complete. Something missing underneath perhaps? First thought was a pin cushion but not sure because of the ring and it’s too small to accommodate many pins. Would it be more likely to have a small photo or lock of hair of a loved one, then the glass would be missing, maybe a compass……any thoughts please? Thanks.

Absolute bargain. I wonder if it’s a snuff lid.

    That is so sweet.
Is there a ridge to secure a glass or compass?

Maybe it held a sponge, like a vinaigrette.

Could be, the cap peak is a little bent maybe from closure but it’s very small, not much of a recess for many pinches. Re bargain, I left behind another item in the shop….. this silver one was a no brainer at £4.99 but I left behind a tiny Georgian brass brooch with curled hair in it, £14.99……

Go back and buy the brooch. You’ll regret it.

Have thought a little about it today and thought I’d rather pay more money to get a better brooch but…….
I’m off to a Xmas sale with jewellery tomorrow morning then off to a large handmade crib display at the Methodist Church later. Depends if the morning sale is a quick in and out one and I don’t get any jewellery:( if I get back and it’s still there I’ll buy it.

I did go back but it was gone. I don’t feel too bad about it, rather pay more and get a better one.
The Xmas sale jewellery was a bust as well.
