Hi all, I'm hoping someone can give me some information on the wall plaque I have. I have no idea of date, maker, or where it may have been made (looks Asian), what is the picture depicting? It looks very old and the metal looks to have copper tinges underneath. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Your plaque looks like a depiction of the Buddha with his characteristic topknot, or "ushnisha". @Any Jewelry will know more about the specific iconography of what he is holding. The style is not Tibetan, but not sure where it would be from. Perhaps India.

I'm with @2manybooks it is a Buddha figure, dressed as a monk with a begging bowl in his right hand. His left hand looks raised to say 'fear not'. The material looks like copper to me, with some verdigris (green stuff).
It seems to have some age.
It is not Tibetan. The folds of his robe look almost Classicist, as do the pillars. Maybe someone looked at Gandhara Buddhas for inspiration.

Katherinekate, could you post a closeup of the mark? It looks like Japanese (Chinese?) characters.

I was thinking of the indentation to the left of his feet. Isn't that a mark?

Could you please post closeups of the indentation at the bottom, and his left hand? That spot looks suspicious to me, too. And he might be holding a bell in his left hand, but difficult to be sure from your photo. Is the back of the plaque visible? If, so, could we see the back of these details (left hand and "mark" area)? It might be clearer than the front. We are a curious and demanding bunch. :)

The iconography and surroundings are pretty generic, but the type of plaque is not like any region-specific Buddhist plaque I know. Most plaques are much more stylized, this one has a certain degree of realism. I like that, but it is a bit confusing.
