Featured Thrift find - Victorian dagger?

    I found this at my friend's thrift store today (along with a George Jensen sterling silver bread knife w/a cactus pattern on handle!)

    I did a image search on this & the closet thing that came up was a Victorian dagger - is that what it is?
    To me it looks like a dinnerware handle that someone attached a sharpened knife blade to. I was thinking (hoping!) it was civil war era.
    PS - there are no markings on it anywhere that I could see.
    Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    It's the knife from a carving set - 1847 Rogers Bros. silverplate 'Columbia' pattern, introduced in 1893...

    Any idea of line's age? Pre 1900?
    Most important is it have any value?! lol
