Thought on this belt?…Silver, brass, other?

Not mine. Its being offered somewhere. Never seen one like it, so now I want to know more. One end looks brass. The others look potentially silver, or if not another white metal. Maybe just weird lighting. Clearly looks pretty old. Owner has some other nice quality things so I think there’s a chance this could have value. Looks vaguely tribal/nomadic middle eastern/North African to me. That’s probably a silly description but I don’t know enough about that area to make a more sensible and specific comparison.

 

There is no way to tell positively from a photo. What does the seller say it is?

Maybe you will be lucky and someone here will recognize it

I think inh got it too! Your edit is great in that it makes it look more like silver which is exciting . Going on inh’s it may not be though.

 

I think this one has the same buckle but it is brass.

Yes, it is Turkish. Most of these belts are brass, some are plated brass. There are silver ones, but I don't think that one is silver, the detail isn't fine enough.

It is old, but not rare. A few of my friends wore similar ones in the 70s.

You’re probably right on the level of detail. It looked like it could possibly be silver to me but that it probably wasn’t.

Moot point anyways as he got back to me to say it was no longer available or he wasnt shipping. Wasn’t sure which.
