thought/insight about 2 ladder back chairs; bent arm rocker and dining

I got these chairs at an estate auction about 17 years ago; estate of an antiques repair/refinisher. There is a set of 8 dining chairs that I just replaced the seat with shaker tape. The rocker had a badly deteriorated bark seat that will also be replaced with shaker tape. The dining chairs look fairly generic classic ladder back. The bent arm rocker has a bit more character. Just curious if anyone has thoughts/insights on age or anything else.

 

Agree that the dining chairs are newer and factory made. Hard to say how old but the lack of wear makes me think relatively new. (Last 30 years?)

The rocker is very interesting. I am not really finding any precedence for it and think it may be craftsman made. The lack of significant wear makes me think 20th century but certainly older than the others.

I like the way the arm rests were bent and shaved !

 

that's one of the unique details of this chair that I haven't seen before.

the chairs......ummm...eeehhh.....my folks had that style in their country house.
see the way the front legs are higher than the seat.....that always bothered my thighs so I couldn't spread my legs ......they were less than comfy !
