So, two packages arrived. I'd bought a whole load of brooches, I'll start with the ones that were the reason I bought the lot.

Is the first one Paper Mache or Russian lacquer-wear perhaps? The winged goddess/Isis/Nephthys is my personal fave...

 

It is indeed USSR era papier mache, Parekh and says Troika. I think she's Nut rather than Isis, because she hasn't got the moon thingy on her head. Nut is usually sideways, too and Isis is head on. I've just cleaner her and she's gleaming nicely. That one is old, too.

Yes, I have taste, both good and bad.

 

I think the Liberty bangle has some age - 70s maybe. I can't spell today.

Another fave ! Back when I fancied myself a punk/goth this was on repeat ! Me with my safety pin earring and blue dippity doo hair. I was a mess .

 

Rave. Went to the ReStore last week and a clown head was on the shelf marked "not Lladro" with a $20 price tag. Guess again and guess what I snagged. It's headed to an antique store near me. Mine came without a wooden base, but for $20 I wasn't arguing. (A realistic value is more like $125)

Your butterfly is a lovely John Atkins and Sons piece.

First, clean thoroughly all the tarnish and polish the front, buy some fancy nail polish in blues, clear and pearlized white.
One thin layer of pearlized diluted with clear, then apply with a toothpick droplets of blues mixed with clear to match the remaining enamel colors.
A top coat layer all over once finished. et voilà

 

Merci beaucoup! I may well have appropriate colours. In normal times, my summer toe nails are very Mediterranean.
