    It seems to have a plate mark, but the lines are sparse for an engraving. Looks to be hand colored. Idle guess is that it predates Currier and Ives.

    January 8, 1815 was the Battle of New Orleans.

    Can't find any images of Jackson with his hat tucked under his arm.

    The only image I can find online appears to be this specific one on a different site.

    I suspected it predated Currier and Ives too. It may even have been their inspiration as the firm didn't start until 1835.

    I wonder why they think c 1850. Perhaps that's the age of the frame?

    Idle guess is that it was a cheap print at the time, produced shortly after the battle to cash in on the news of the day.
