Featured These Wall Hangings Belonged to my grandfather

Thank They are 26" long and 5 1/4" wide. My grandfarher was a Merchant Marine and brought these home. Any thoughts on them?

 

They're Japanese. The cranes appear to be these:

Pretty meticulous carving on split bamboo.

 

They look very mid-century to me - late '50s into the '60s.
