Also a tenner each. I'd not come across the Cocteau one before. It seems it's quite expensive!

The Vishnu/Lakshmi is nicer than my last one, little carved faces.

 

Oh yes you've found a goodie in the Jean Cocteau! I had a flammarion brooch that was a collaboration with Madiglioni's estate. The Cocteau cats do very well. Flammarion in general is really nice, I bought a jewelry ID book from them and its stunning.

That other brooch is fantastic though

I can't see her face, is it there?
It is from Nepal, made by the Newari people of Kathmandu Valley. Most of the turquoise is real. Maybe the coral too?

 

Vishnu is, but Lakshmi is a bit rubbed. I knew what it was, because you identified the last one! I suspect the coral is real. Not sure what Vishnu’s face is carved from.

I’ve not seen a Flammarion piece before, I don’t think they’re common here. I’m sure it would sell well, but you can guess where it’s going….!

Oh dear, I'm repeating myself. I'm getting old.

Probably glass. On these gilded Newari pieces the 'body parts' are usually glass. The gold ones have carved (semi)precious stone faces.
