I have a The New Norfolk and Western Railway Ashtray or Plate. I am not fir sure but you can see through the blackened glass. I was wondering if the maker took clear glass and tinted it black so someone can see through it. I have not been about to find this but found similar one that went for $75. However, mine has a broken ear or broken corner which will reduce the value of it. I was wondering whether it is an ashtray or a plate, the material and year? Could this have been a souvenir back in the day. Thank you for your assistance in this request. Rob

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

it's an ashtray...that folks may not have used as an ashtray.....so as not to cover the design.....
the chips will lower any value.....no one likes broken glass !!
but if they are not found that easily.....a Railroad collector may wish to add it to a collection........

Neat advertising piece likely to promote their route to potential freight customers. 1960's era perhaps. The damage will significantly reduce value.

What he said. A collector who is a fan of that road might want it; a dealer won't.
