    Hi all,

I took some new pics of this glass (I'm going to call it a goblet). Hopefully, these new pics under brighter light and magnification will elicit an expert consensus as to whether or not it is hand painted or at least has elements of hand painting. Also, maybe some newer folks the site will be able to id this item.

I've yet to find much when it comes to transferware in glass, just in porcelain.

Thanks in advance for any comments and opinions.

Have you tried looking at it under magnification? Transfers should show pixels instead of brushstrokes. There are also a combination where the outline is a transfer with the interior areas hand painted.

Those pics were the best magnification I have presently. Some are at 10x phone camera. Any other device you recommend?

I usually use a jeweler's loupe but I'm more familiar with decals and transferware on porcelain and examining prints. My vision isn't the best so I set the loupe directly on top of the item I'm trying to examine. Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience with this type of glass to give you an opinion one way or another. The best I can do I suggest another possibility to examine the decoration closely. Sorry I can't be of more help.
