Textile BIrd Framed Estate Find Any ideas of its origin?

    Hello All, I bought this piece from a home which can only be described as a Time Capsule, early 1900's. I bought a textile book, did internet search, still lost. I thought French or American. The background threds appear to be an old gossamer material. Any help will be gladly appreciated. The frame is an old one with metal end pieces.

    I send my cell photos to my email address, and edit in a photo program.

    I have to find a better way to photograph, shrunk down to 25% and still too large. Will work on this. Thanks to everyone

    While on cell phone, email to yourself as MEDIUM, open email on cell. Save resized photo. Post that image.

    It looks like a flying peacock embroidery from India.
    Given the gossamer-like fabric (silk?), it could be part of a saree that was too worn to wear, but too pretty to throw away.

    The eyes in the tail feathers of the embroidery are typical of peacock feathers, especially the way they are depicted in India.
    In Asia birds like peacocks and phoenix are often called bird of paradise. That term is unrelated to the Papuan and East Indonesian birds of paradise, which are small birds with enormous, usually rather fluffy, tail feathers. There are many species, here are some:
