Featured Textile Basket

    Interesting piece I got in a lot. Wondering where/when/who on this one? Are the flowers silk or synthetic? Framed by a shop in NYC with a five digit number. Can’t find much about the shops history. I’m guessing the artwork is older than the frame but maybe not. Any insights appreciated.     Silk ribbon embroidery... with what appears to be some chenille or velvet ribbonwork, too. (The ombre-colored ribbons are likely silk... the other stuff, I don't know.)
    My guess would be 1920s/30s.
    Very pretty, I love this kind of stuff!

    That would be my guess too. 1920s-ish when basket motifs were popular.

    Thanks. Yes I figured velvet as well. I also thought about that general time area sounded right. It is quite lovely!
