Yep, it's very true! But, as a collector, i am loving the depression in prices.

 

For example, the "bird" chest of drawers, a late 17th century example of pilgrim american furniture, there are only 20 of these chests known to exist, most in museums. 30 years ago, my chances of owning an outstanding example of americana this rare were zero & none, today it sits in my house.

 

C'mon you guys. You know I really put it up so I could show that someone actually does wear cameos. Know I have seen the decline in interest & prices for 'brown furniture' mentioned on this site more than once. Maybe the article is also preowned/vintage.

I do. But I'm not a recognized 'expert' on collectibles. I'm wearing this one right now. A beauty he ain't, but the weight makes him satisfying to wear as a pendant & texture has finger-interest to touch.

 

Well, you're 'our' cameo expert......that's enough for me !!!!
