Teeny weeny little purse - who made it, and what for?

    This is made out of nice soft leather. It is very small - about 4" wide and 3" tall. What's odd about it is the handle. Is it a child's purse? I don't think so - too detailed. There is writing on the balls on the end of the handle, and on the clasp. Darned if I can read it. Help?

    If it was a doll purse, I wouldn't expect the interior divisions -- looks like it was made to be used.

    Not necessarily - some doll stuff is seriously elaborate, especially pieces from that era and older.

    1920s or 30s? I know the "salesman sample" is trite, but one must wonder. Either that or a very high end doll. Could it be a very, very fancy change purse?

    I just don't see a change purse having a handle.
    I think it probably is a doll's purse. Lucky doll!

    I don't think the marks matter too much. What matters is how well made and elegant it is. The details are fabulous, darling. This is a clear winner.
