Tea Strainer?

    Yes it is a tea strainer, they are still used today although not as much since teabags overtook loose tea.
    My dad uses his several times a day.

    Almost looks like the Japanese copy from the 1960s. But can't tell for sure.
    Silver plated, and because of the thickness of the metal, I'm thinking pot metal. That's why I'm thinking Japan.
