Featured Tapestry Purse?

    Hi All, I picked this up at the local flea market from a seller who does house clear outs, he knew nothing about it.

    It measures 6" across and in height without the handle.

    Is this a purse? Can anyone venture a guess at its age? Could this be a home made piece?

    Thank you for any help :)

    Both the front and back are exactly the same.

    Would a pocket have a handle like this? I have no idea.

    Not a pocket. Pockets were meant to be worn inside clothing, at least originally. It's a handbag in a very art nouveau design. Pretty thing. Reticule maybe, although there's no drawstring.
