First off, I know zip, zilch, nada, zero about tourmaline so I don't know how far fetched it is that this could be it. The top of the ring looks goldfilled possibly, and the bottom appears brassy in person. I only came across tourmaline as I did a reverse image search on the ring. The one thing I know about it is that it's a very hard rock - there is a small nick in the top of the stone, and it does scratch glass. I realize that there's two pearls missing - have one that fell off enroute, and I'll have to dig up another one. edit: I don't have a stone tester unfortunately...and I looked with a loupe and I don't see any bubbles at all Thanks for opinions!
Could be tourmaline, pink topaz, pink sapphire, I think I can see facet doubling which rules out glass and spinel.
Thanks Ce BCA. Maybe I'll look for someone who can test it for me. The setting seems minimal value, but the stone might make it worth it.
What size is the stone? Better to get it tested for type of stone.I do like tourmaline,it's fun to look for.
Thank you for the reply, Hollyblue. It's 12x10mm. It really is a pretty color. I think my pictures show up a tad darker than what it really is in person (and definitely dirtier, time to clean it up a bit). I'll definitely find someone to test it.
