I came across a new in box set of FB Rogers stainless tableware in imperial rose. Since I am new to this whole trade, is this something someone may want or is it something I should just donate to a shelter? I know it's not nearly as nice as most of the products I found googling, and I can't even find a date for these although the packaging makes me think it's quite new! I apologize in advance if this is a newbie question, I am just starting off doing this as we go through a lot of old houses and I was sick of seeing so much stuff get junked when it was in perfectly good condition. I'm headed to the library this afternoon to find some books to help me learn some basics. Any recommendations on those would be great too :)

tip....flip thru books ...all books.....folks like to leave cash stashed there.
tip...old metal containers...coffee , tea & the like.....should always be opened before trashing.
tip.. cash in the mattress is not an urban myth......just watch out for bedbugs !

Ahhh! Thank you so much for all the tips! I just left a house and didn't check the drapes, I will be going back in the morning! Some of them are overwhelming because of the sheer amount of stuff. I am going to be getting a truck soon, so that should help cut down the trips I make. Currently it's all accumulating in my garage or I'm finding creative places to put it in my house. My biggest thing isn't to make this into a profit business, but just to keep these old pieces in circulation. It just makes me so sad to see these things get chunked in the garbage. Most of the things I have been taking to a women's shelter by me if its good condition.

Best of luck in your new venture! You need to be able to use ebay to search the things that you can readily identify. There are a few rose patterns in Rogers Imperial stainless. Not sure which one you have. Here are sold listings for what I could find searching Rogers imperial rose stainless. Not worth a lot but some do seem to sell.

Amen. Some things I do just rehome of course; if I run across something friend needs and it's dirt cheap, I either sell it to them at cost or just give it away. Low dollar value housewares, i.e. most coffee mugs, are donation city. Beware some Starbuck's city mugs however; some of them sell for real money.

IOW they're about the right size. I have a couple of the city mugs I picked up for cheap, but they aren't the "good" ones.

Somehow, I don't think that sale will go through :wideyed:. Looks like someone might have accidentally bid against themselves.

2107 red star............that last bid is an automatic bid......maybe fixed to bid one higher than the last bid......and the underbidder.....knows that.....or was checking to see if that's the case.

Like Brad says...........no sale there !!!

That's insane! :wideyed: Perhaps a misplaced decimal point?

Totally agree with you all, but how the heck did TWO bidders, including one new one, misplace a decimal point?

Do you happen to know the seller well enough to ask "wha hoppin?" :sorry:

Yes, evelyb, only happened to me once, and lasted about two hours before the bank phoned and apologized for adding three zeroes on the receipt I got at the drive through.
I should have framed and hung it just for fun.

I asked a mutual friend (the one that pointed me to the listing), he said both bidders emailed and said they had only bid $50.00 and $55.00. Ebay glitch? I haven't googled to see if it's happened to anyone else.
