Swirled Pottery Vase

    Seem to recall some company in the USA making things from colorful layered sandstone. Might be one of those.

    Nemadji makes swirl pottery but this looks different than the pieces of theirs I've seen. Don't know for sure though.

    I’ve seen different kind of swirled pottery before, some with layered clay, some decorated by dipping etc.
    But this is a bit different. It’s red clay body with gritty texture applied on the outside. I’d think the swirl decoration was done last but not sure how.

    Did it have a hole in the bottom?

    Niloak was made from different colored clays swirled together, but if you look inside this vase, you see the clay is only one color. The glaze is swirled, as stated above.
