Hi all i was hoping someone might have some information on this little bronze medal from 1947. Has a tiny stamp on the back and all i can make out is Union Made on the bottom. Mikey
The references I'm finding to "Supreme Council" online are Masonic. Maybe presented by the lodge to someone who was not a Mason? Maybe an academic award for citizenship (or some such). Aren't those Washington landmarks?
I'm not finding any events for August 1947 in Boston either. Just an FYI, the mark on the back is from International Jewelry Workers' Union (IJWU), the folks that made it.
I was finding the Masonic reference too but there is nothing about the medal that looks Masonic. Thank you @Roaring20s that puzzle solved!
The lack of Masonic emblems is what makes me think it might have been presented to a non-Mason for something not directly related to the lodge.
Unfortunately, could have been a meeting of the supreme council of any number of organizations. Debora
That's a Boy Scout emblem of to Revere's side in the second one, And the Old North Church on the other.
It certainly does look like its missing a bar with pin across the top. Is there a way to affix it as is? Debora
It must have had a bar at the top. There is no pin to attach it to anything. Still searching with no luck. Mikey
