This is my first post on this site so I hope you can shed some light. I have a stoneware?? bowl , very thin, rings like china when tapped with fingernail. It is 10.5" across and stands 4" high. Treacle glaze with applied decoration. It is marked with a stylised, curly ended, impressed "J" type mark. I have some photos to give you more details but they are to large to upload. I could email them to anyone interested?

Hello everyone! Thanks for all the attention and advice. I am a bit slow off the mark with techno jelly and am confined to a laptop as smart phones are a bit too smart for me. All I have is a good camera and a dumb phone! I will have to ask my daughter to go through the loading process as described by KoT as she is more savy with computers than me. Keep tabs on this thread and I will try and get some pics uploaded today(sunday). Kind regards....Pete.

Greetings Leedie, The photos are now loaded. I am struggling to find who made my bowl (very thin and well made). Have a look and see if you recognise the makers mark. Many thanks....Pete.

Not that many studio potters are documented. Unless they live in your area, you may never find them.

This bowl was purchased in the UK so is quite possibly British.I have looked in the standard UK studio pottery reference book and drawn a blank. This forum is my best chance!

I don't recognize the mark, but do like the piece. Have you tried Studio Pottery website? They have over 7600 pages of listed and identified marks. Incase you haven't below is their url

    good luck
