I have just bought this. In the style of a lunette in Florence, Italy. Embrace between Sts Francis and Dominic, made by Andrea della Robbia. My sculpture is heavy and is 61,5 cm wide and 33 cm at the tallest. It came in a fitted wooden box. Does anyone recognize the maker's mark or have any other information? 051 (800x475).jpg 052 (800x471).jpg 053 (800x502).jpg 054 (800x601).jpg 055 (650x800).jpg 056 (800x439).jpg 057 (800x442).jpg

Andrea della Robbia was an Italian Renaissance sculptor, especially in ceramics. Wikipedia
Born: October 20, 1435, Florence, Italy
Died: August 4, 1525 (age 89 years), Florence, Italy

I don't think what's in the box was made by him..

I know it isn't made by della Robbia. It is in the style of della Robbia. It could be an antique or made in 2020. I don't know, that is why I am asking.

Would you be kind enough to tell us where you bought it from and what you were told about it?

Dang, if Walter was here we'd have the answer right away. Miss him!

I bought it from a young guy who had been given it after a neighbour had passed away. He just wanted to get rid of it and didn't have any interest or knowledge about the item. It didn't cost me much, roughly 30 USD.

The item was very dirty so I carefully cleaned it.

So it was purchased in the U.S.? Or are you converting the currency?

I thought the same thing as soon as I saw the mark.

I thought someone on the forum had Walter's book. They may pop in & help out.

@Divina - You could try editing your title & add something like "help with Italian pottery mark".

Thank you for the suggestion. I am unable to edit the title so I will have to make a new thread. My apologies.

So, is anyone else seeing C A F in the mark? Ceramiche/ceramica something maybe?

Yes. Possibly also an 'l' and an 'm'.

I see an "F" and thought it might be for "Fabbrica."

If you make another thread you should put a link in both of them so that if someone comes along later they can see what has been written in both threads.

You also may want to put something in the title referring to Walter's book & help with a mark on Italian pottery.
