STORAGE AUCTION FIND - IS THIS A US MILITARY UNIFORM?

A friend bought a storage unit at auction & I bought this from him which was in it. I thought it was military dress uniform, but a friend told me he thought it was from a military school or academy - and said the green with red dots lapel pins on shoulders wasn't U.S. military?
If it is real, what branch is it from? What years?

Armored Cavalry badge on the front. That's a full on dress uniform too; I don't think all soldiers have those.

 

Makes sense - delivering food to my dad when I get home I'll lost pic of metal adjustable baton also in unit

The only diddly I know about military insignia is those rainbow striped bars racks are called theater, service, campaign and commemorative ribbons. This was also in the unit - I just didn't put it together with the military uniform.

Green one at top looks like Army Commendation medal with oak leaf cluster (so he was awarded that 4 times total).

 

So he was a MP & a Sgt, right (from stripes on arms)? What year/era is this from - today? Vietnam?

Left lower sleeve 9 years service,right lower sleeve 2 years overseas service.See link in post#9 for ribbons,it will tell you the ribbons and possible the timeline depending on what they are.

 

I found info on the manufacturer. They made uniforms during Viet Nam and then again later after 2003 - now. I think this was made in the second time period.

 

Hubby says Service Dress is with medals, not ribbons. This would be for a dress inspection or formal function whereas a Service Dress is fancier.
