    Not real antique but vintage.

I have two stools in my possession that are designed by an architect called Pieter Swaan (1940-2010) and made by the Van der Loo furniture factory in Waddinxveen (the Netherlands) in 1966.

I was told this story by the widow of Pieter Swaan/daughter of the owner of the factory.

For me these stools look very modern for their age. They look more like early ‘70’s in my opinion.

The stools are very heavy, but therefore very practical and very sturdy!

    Dutch description of the factory.

Did you have a question? I like these a lot. No tipping these over easily. Not a lot of difference in 1966 and the early 70s, in the greater scheme of things. Late 60s style was evolving away from the classic MCM look to what we would now consider a more mod design look (Not to be confused with the various modern companies that use Mod in their names). Funny how time gives you some perspective.
