Hope someone with some knowledge on this type of stoneware comes along.
This is 8" tall and i assume the 3 is for 3 quarts as that is about the size. Wheel made with attached handles.
Other than that i have no idea.

    The blue seems unusually bright.

It does have a darker brighter blue.

Examples of Westerwald are very close. Colors are spot on. But how can you tell. They are not marked?

some pieces are marked, some aren't. For me it is the colours, the texture, the design on the handles. When you put it up against North American salt glaze the difference really stands out:) I see lots where I am, military people brought them back from Germany.

I'd have thought Westerwald or thereabouts, as @cxgirl says, it's quite distinct.

Thank you @cxgirl and @Ownedbybear. Mine is not marked but it it most likely one. I did contact Crocker Farms to see what they think. Any idea on age. There is a 300 year range lol.

I may be wrong but isn't this the makers mark? mark.JPG

I thought it was just a flaw.

Looks like an intentional mark to me. I have never seen a flaw look so intentional & I have quite a collection of salt-glazed bottles!

I didn't know that they were only into American stoneware. The guy told me it is foreign and not worth a lot. That's all I got!

They do deal mostly with American stoneware & given their location which is right near the border of Pennsylvania I imagine that is how they get so much.

They did sell that whistle of mine which turned out to be English but they already had it in hand. I opted for them to keep it as I figured they would likely get as much if not more than I would on eBay.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The painting on this seems along the lines of "naive" or untrained. Was that typical for this type of stoneware? It seems to have some age to it...
