    It would be best to take it to be tested, IDing stones like this from photos is nearly impossible :(

    My first guess without being able to run a gem tester over it would be citrine, but it's impossible to be sure from a photo.

    Pretty ring, Estater.
    I think it is greenish, more like peridot, but I am not saying it is peridot.
    I would definitely have it tested and have the setting checked. That is an accident waiting to happen.:eek:

    From color on my monitor I would say tourmaline, but in dim lighting, peridot/olivine another possibility.

    Peridot is what I was thinking, but citrine, peridot etc are all quartz and will come up the same on a gem tester. IIRC tourmalines are a little harder.

    Peridot is not in the quartz family,it is in the olivine family.

    Oops. It's also a bit softer and should ring up differently according to the GIA page I found.
