Got them relatively cheap was hoping the bottom was moonstone when I first grabbed the bag they were in. I like the way they are mounted. Any value here or did I get what I paid for, about $15 on the pair? 86FC3351-CB67-4804-9D10-11A546CE7E45.jpeg 50F77B05-66A8-4CC5-8D12-F4DAF70CDA3F.jpeg

What is the stuff holding the stones on?. I’ve not seen that before, it looks like it’s got finger prints in it?

it almost looks like dental cement!

I think you paid about what they're worth. Rock crystal/quartz. I'd be having that chain bit in vinegar.

Wonder if there is any way of getting that stuff off?. With simple attachments that would be a lovely necklace

Rock crystal. The internal striations are often caused naturally by water within the crystal itself. They look good to me! A nice find.

I agree with both. Tumbled or rough stones are not worth as much as specific cuts such as round beads, faceted, or cabochons.

I think the gunk might look better cleaned up.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The clasps/closures on both look relatively new.

Omg I’m glad you asked. I just looked at them really quickly when I got them and took the pics. I had assumed it was brass. Too funny. I think it’s actually a clay of some sorts maybe with a texture applied.

I’ve never seen dental cement. Looks kinda like clay but that could be it. I totally thought they were brass at first!

It looks like you could probably chip it off but I’ll just be moving it on to the next person.

It could be something like Sculpey or Fimo clay.
