The bases are marked with Frederick Nelson and the branches with "Newport", which I believe was a Gorham trade mark. Wonder if the arms are replacement or Gorham was the maker and Nelson the retailer?

Frederick & Nelson was a big department store in Seattle. Long-gone of course. But, yes, they would have been the retailer of this Gorham-made item.

Somewhere in the back of my aged brain there lies a connection between Gorham and Frederick Nelson. Closer that just a retailer. Partner?

I don't type THAT slowly, Or do I. :( The only slot above me was a shiny piece of metal.
That's OK, though GMA. Ladies first.
    Scoundrels back of the line.

NOT ONLY FIRST, but 100% correct. I had wondered about that scribble next to Nelson. VERY clear on Wikededia.
Thank you. One more thing I do not have to belabor.

    Hi,
I have the same set of adjustable candle sticks by Gorham. I bought mine new in 1977. They could be used with just the short base, or made taller by using the center and very elegant using the three light arm. They were marketed as adjustable. They were screwed into each other. I have used them all different ways through out the years.
