I have this small silver cup, possibly a christening cup inscribed "Jilly"

Makers mark D&B, the city mark is wiped clean, sterling lion and the date letter E

The nearest I can find is Docker & Burn ltd registered in 1925 Chester, but the nearest "E" for Chester is 1955 and I feel sure this cup is a lot older.

    Any suggestions welcome.

The cup is very reflective under unnatural lighting and these pics are the best I can get.

I'm thinking yes to Docker & Burn, but assayed in Birmingham, 1929. I see serifs on the E and the Chester 1955 is definitely sans-serif.

That makes sense, it would mean an Anchor has been polished out.
    Thanks Bakers

In picture # 6 the E is looking more like an F to me.

No its definitely an "E" here is a better pic taken by camera rather than phone.
