Sterling Silver Candy Boat (Sheffield, 1922)

    Another score from the local auction-house.

    Beautiful oval sterling silver candy bowl or boat or whatever.

    (The imperfections in the silver are water-droplets - I was polishing it at the time these photos were taken).

    It's much larger than most silver boats I've seen of this type. This is about 8-9 inches long, whereas most are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand!

    I think it's too small for bread. I do have a larger one which would fit bread, but this one wouldn't have the space. It measures 4x8 inches.

    That one is much bigger than mine. Theirs is 10 by 5. Mine is only 8 by 4.
