Featured Sterling Silver Buckle (1906 B'ham)

Been after something like this for a while, for a project I've been thinking about...



Now that I've got it, I can start thinking about building my thingo...

 

Lovely nurse's buckle, Shangas. The left half has a kind of bamboo motif around the heart shape. The other half has the same outline, but the maker decided on a different decoration, quirky.
What kind of thingo are you thinking of building?

 

Good eye AJ, I noticed that there seemed to be more detail within the heart on the right, but missed the difference in the frame outlines.

Shangas, are those the purity marks at the crest of the plume on the left and at the 3:30 mark on the right?

 

You have a good eye too. One on right seems to have 3 marks, left has 2.

 

LOVE the buckle!!!! The designs are SO different ON THE FRONT when one takes the time to study it, it almost begs the question, are the two sides actually a pair, even though it's a perfect fit!!! From the back....you'd say NO QUESTION!!! Are the marks on each half the same???

 

I would say they are engraved by two different people, but possibly from the same company. Somewhere in the world is another mismatched but nice looking buckle.

 

Not gonna say what I'm building until I've actually started it...gotta find the materials, first.

 

Ok, I'll guess. A silver sewing machine.

 

I'm not that bloody rich!!

If I ever find the right material to make it, I'll post some photos here.

 

I've bought, measured and adjusted the material...now for the construction...
